Train-to-Hire Stipends Window

This stipend will be available under the train-to-hire window to university graduates (without a local full-time employment contract at time of application) who need to gain knowledge and practical skills in mid-level or advanced-level value added IT services. Stipends under train-to-hire window will be available for graduates to work as trainees in a local company, on local or international client-related work. The train-to-hire stipends window can cover transportation and allowance. Train-to-hire stipends will have a fixed amount and will be valid for a maximum of six months. Companies will need to present a work plan for the trainees and make a business case for how they will contribute to the firm’s business/R&D activities. Companies will need to conduct monthly evaluation of the trainees and will need to issue full-time employment contracts (short term if necessary) for the period of train-to-hire program.

The stipend amount funded by the project can go up to $1,200, depending on current market value for position or technical skill, candidate experience, and technology/ project complexity. The companies will need to contribute between 20 and 50 percent to the overall trainees’ remuneration. The co-financing percentage will depend on the financial situation of the firm, growth potential, the size of the company, and business proposals. Smaller firms and firms that are located in Gaza will benefit from lower co-financing requirements. For women trainees, the company will need to contribute only 20 percent to 30 percent to the trainee remuneration.
